Get well, Lorina, with From Mountains of Ice

So, 12 days since my knee surgery. I will have perhaps reported on my progress by now, or perhaps not. My physiotherapy assessment was last Wednesday. And, yes, I’ve set up a series of blog posts in advance of all this to blatantly solicit your well-wishes and encouragement in the form of book purchases. This week I’m badgering you about my cultural, dark fantasy, From Mountains of Ice. It’s a story about an unwilling hero, about underdogs…

Musing on Family Day

So Family Day, 2018. A relatively new holiday in our Canadian calendar, one likely created to break up the long winters, but one also designed, one would like to think, to bring us closer to the people who matter in our lives. Here at the Old Stone House we’re pursing various activities. My dearest husband has spent the morning sanding drywall mud in the main bathroom, part of the 17 year (so far) renovation project…

Shadow Song coming out in audiobook in 2018

So thrilled to announce Shadow Song will be coming out as an audiobook in March of 2018. It’s being narrated by Susan J. Iannucci. Susan is a California denizen, who has narrated productions all over the world from her professional sound studio. When released, Shadow Song will be available through Amazon, Audible and iTunes. I’ll have links up to both Amazon and Audible on my website under the page for Shadow Song. You will also be able to link to it…

September Progress Report

Because some of you have been asking about my next novel release, thought it would be a good idea to update you on my progress. Caliban is slated for release December 1, 2017. However, because my cover art mad genius, Jeff Minkevics, has been inundated this year, the cover for the novella is delayed, and thus the release of Caliban may be delayed a month or two. Eric Demarais has done a fabulous job of the layout, and…

From Mountains of Ice now an audiobook!

My first audiobook, From Mountains of Ice, is now live and available on iTunes, Audible and Amazon. Narrated by Diana Majlinger, the audiobook runs 9 hours and 11 minutes long, beautifully told with a European flair that is captivating, clear and a perfect complement to this tale of madness, betrayal and endurance. If you don’t already have an Audible account, you can get From Mountains of Ice for free with an Audible trial. How cool is that? Jeff Minkevics, Five Rivers’ art…

New edition of From Mountains of Ice

Very excited to announce there will be a new edition of From Mountains of Ice this summer. Five Rivers’ brilliant Art Director, Jeff Minkevics, is designing a new cover, and wow is it fabulous! I am so excited, even if Jeff is losing his mind dealing with all the minute detail he’s decided is required. And Éric Desmarais, Five Rivers’ layout artist, is working on a stunning new layout which does absolute tribute to the story. This…

Writing, really I am

Seems to be I can only manage one post a month. My apologies, dear reader. Writing of The Rose Guardian continues slowly but positively. I’m so close to finishing the first draft, perhaps by close of year. I’m very happy with how the characters have developed, particularly Vi, my protagonist. It has been a challenge writing three separate stories, meshing them so the stories flow as a cohesive whole. Fine tuning of that will happen…

From Mountains of Ice audiobook available for pre-order

Just thrilled to let my fans know my fantasy novel, From Mountains of Ice, is now available for pre-order from Iambik Audiobooks. Diana Majlinger does a wonderful narration, with her delicious accent (at least to these Canadian ears), adding an exotic flavour to this tale of honour, loyalty and betrayal. Once at Iambik’s site you can listen to the first chapter for free, and then decide from there whether you wish to add From Mountains…

From Mountains of Ice soon as audiobook

I received the proofs for Diana Majlinger’s reading of From Mountains of Ice. Must say I’m delighted with the Iambik narrator’s delivery; there is a delicious European accent in her voice which gives the novel a very cosmopolitan feeling. I’m told by Gesine Kernchen at Iambik the novel should be available at Iambik’s website, and at Audible.com in the new year. Not sure at this point about pricing and such, but will be sure to…
