Neustadt Library Writer in Residence Program
I’m thrilled to announce I’ll be the Writer in Residence at the Neustadt Public Library in July.
Whether you’re working on your memoirs, family history, that next great Canadian novel, or are struggling with clarity in your academic or business writing, I’ll be pleased to help and offer insight.
Over 30 years of experience
In 2008 I established my own publishing house, Five Rivers Publishing, in direct response to the changing face of publishing. I bring with me over 30 years of experience as a freelance writer, author and editor, and a commitment to publishing new Canadian voices which might otherwise remain silent.
I am the author of four novels, a collection of short speculative fiction, two chapbooks of poetry, and two books. My articles have appeared in regional and national print media, and short fiction in Polar Borealis, On Spec, Neo-Opsis, Postscripts to Darkness, Deluge: Stories of Survival & Tragedy in the Great Flood, Strangers Among Us, and Sword and Sorceress X. I recently had the pleasure of co-editing with Susan MacGregor a collection of historical fantasy, Tesseracts 22: Alchemy and Artifacts, published by Edge Publishing.
In addition to my work in the literary arts, I have been a visual artist all my life, producing work primarily in watercolour, but also pen and ink, oil, acrylic and textiles, as well as digital media. My work has been commissioned by both public and private patrons, and hangs in government, corporate and private spaces.
Those Pesky Details
So, how to take advantage of my July as writer in residence? I’ll be at the Neustadt Public Library, 511 Mill Street, Neustadt, Ontario, every Thursday through July, 2019, 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., with shortened hours July 18, noon to 1:00 p.m., to make allowances for the monthly book club meeting.
You can book an appointment through any branch, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or drop in and take a chance.by
